We have minimal information about him other than the supposition of Teunis Bergen (see Register of the Early Settlers of Kings Co, Long Island by Teunis G Bergen pg 94) that he was a child of Teunis Nyssen, probably mostly because brother Jan Teunise Van Middleswaert took the name Van (Von) Middlebout/Van (Von) Middleswaert around the same time to differentiate themselves from other Tunisons/Nyssens in the area (signifying that they were from Midwout (Middlebout), being the settlement between Flatbush and Brooklyn). (Van being most commonly used, although Von - Dutch for from - is also seen on some genealogies.
