  • Notes
    • Maria was born in Rhinebeck, Dutchess County, New York.

A family book was created by a genealogist sometime in the 1930's or so that claimed she was born in Rhinebeck, Long Island. However, no such place ever existed and it's likely that she found a family bible (possibly Benjamin Wilson's) that stated Maria was born in Rhinebeck, and the genealogist assumed it was somewhere on Long Island since her parents and her husband lived most/all of their lives on Long Island. Primarily in (then) Queens County.

For reason's unknow at this time (12 May 2023), Maria was born in nearby Dutchess County per the record found on Pg. 24 of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Wurtemburg, Rhinebeck, New York, 1760-1899 (baptisms) by Art Kelly. The record is a match for Maria's name and date of birth, along with one of the various spellings of her Dutch parents, father's name: Ransom Keschau (typically anglicized as Ram Cashow); and mother's name: Henriette (anglicized version of Hendericke "Hanke" Hegeman.

Maria was the second wife of Benjamin Wilson after his first wife died following the birth of their third child together, Elizabeth Wilson.

Both Cashow sisters Margarite and Maria went by "Mary."
