  Grandma Ruth had a good friend named Betty. From mom (Susan Theisen) "Betty was my mom's friend. They met through girl scouts. She became interested in Judy's dogs . Betty and her husband had a motor home and traveled around the country in it after he retired. They sometimes spent time at Judy's in Lancaster and I think went to some dog shows too. Betty's last name was muellner" More from mom via email about Betty "Betty was a war bride. Cliff was stationed in England during well [sic]. So she had her family here." Grandma Ruth and Betty were girl scouts together and went to Sunnyview Day Camp. Betty's day camp moniker was "Dagwood." More from mom, via email, about Sunnyview day camp: "Sunnyview day camp was in Hanson Park in Wauwatosa Wisconsin. The park had a 9 hoke [sic] chip and put golf course and a public pool host park pool. I swam there and golfers [sic] there. The camp was at the other end and had a wooded area that several campsites was in. The equipment house for park equipment over the winter was the unit house for the day camp. Can't [sic] iron cooking pots for units cooking lunch could be checked out for the day etc. We had a flag ceremony mornings and at the end of the day at the flag pole by the unit house. There were 3 two week sessions every summer." "I remember someone's camp name Kettles but only from camp. So not someone she knew from anywhere else." Mom (Susan Theisen) emails me back about a picture I inquired about with everyone holding a beer, grandma Ruth was holding 2! "Louisa and Mile Lead. They had a small farm (maybe ten acres i think) not far from milwaukee. we took many sunday drives to their farm. There are pictures of Judy and myself and then some with Lynne too. We loved going to their farm .They had chickens, geese. ducks, pigs. Maybe a cow but I don't remember. The best part was Mrs Lead would throw back a rug in the house and open a trap door to a root cellar. She came up with sausages, canned items etc. for lunch. Judy and I were fascinated where she kept food. I think my grandpa knew mike lead from the RR" Grandma had a 1963 AMC Rambler Classic 550 sedan, the most basic model at $2,105.
