    • William Henry Wilson's Full Pension file from the National Archives containes the following:

      Jane's initial testimony of marriage (notary got the date wrong, later corrected). Pg.4

      Jane states she can find no death record of William because one doesn't exist, however, she provides the affidavit of his regiment's commanding officer, Colonel George B. Bingham who identified Williams body in the hospital and went to his funeral. Pg. 10.

      Jane states that she doesn't have a copy of their marriage record because there wasn't one created. States where they were married (16th Street Baptist Church) and that Lavinia Hegeman was in attendence and that it was a quite wedding with no one else in attendence. Pg. 12.

      Jane sign's affidavit correcting the date of her marriage, which was June 16, 1851 (marriage location is the same). Pg. 14.

      [Pheobe] Amelia Storms (Wilson), Williams younger sister, signs affidavit that she has known Jane Wilson (Clark) for 30 years. Pg. 18.

      Amelia Storms states for the record that she was William's sister and that she knew him "during his natural life" and that she was agreeable to the marriage (interestingly, no mention of the parents). Pg. 20.

      Colonel George B. Bingham, the commanding officer of the Wisconsin 1st Infantry regiment, signed affidavit that he knew William well both before and during the war. He states some details about Williams death. He also states he was the one who identified Williams body at the hospital and attended his funeral in Nashville. Pg. 24.

      testified that she was present at William and Janes wedding in NYC. Pg. 26.

      On 14 Oct 1916, Jane states that she is 82 years old and was born on 18 Nov 1834 at New York City, N.Y. Pg. 43
