In the year 1835, on the 9th of December, at 5 o’clock in the morning, was born in Ötigheim: a little son of Franz Anton Wittmann, tailor, and Maria Eva neé Kuhn, a legitimately married couple. The child was baptized the same day and was given the name Fr. Michel. Godfather was Fr. Michel Speck, woodcutter. Witnesses to the baptism were Johann Wendlin Kelmel and Joseph Kühn, both citizens here. – Joannes Koch, priest
[Fr. usually stands for Friedrich, although his father’s name is Franz, so it could be for Franz. The fact that the name was never written out, can indicate that is was never meant to be the call name]
